What makes an instrument suitable for jazz?
Control of dynamics, intonation and articulation matters more than a jazz label. Choose for your technique, the group's volume and how you will amplify the instrument.
Do I need the most expensive model?
No. Identify what currently holds you back: comfort, response, connections or maintenance. Keep budget for setup, accessories and lessons when these better address the problem.
