Xhosa Cole

Xhosa Cole is a British tenor saxophonist, born around 1997. He came to prominence after winning the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year in 2018, followed by the Jazz Newcomer of the Year title at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards in 2019. His recorded work includes the albums K(no)w Them, K(no)w Us (2021) and On A Modern Genius, Vol.1 (2025), both released through Stoney Lane Records, with a third album also issued on the label.…

Saxophonist Xhosa Cole presents his FreeMonk project, a tribute to the music of Thelonious Monk, with two sets of live jazz. A highly accomplished young musician, Cole has already made a name for himself with performances at the BBC Proms and a Parliamentary Jazz Award for Best Newcomer.
