Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website downloads onto your device when you visit it. They let us remember information about your visit (language, preferences) or measure how people use the site. UK data protection law (PECR regulation 6) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) require us to inform you and, in some cases, to ask for your consent.
2. Who owns the site?
GRE2JAZZ S.L., company number B10785392, registered at Calle Portalón, 7, 05690 Los Llanos de Tormes (Ávila), España. Contact:festivaljazzelbarcodeavila@gmail.com.
3. Types of cookies we use
3.1 Technical cookies (necessary) — always on
These cookies are essential for the site to work. They do not require your consent under the UK GDPR or the ICO. We use them for:
- Session and CSRF: identifying you temporarily during your visit to prevent request-forgery attacks on the forms.
- Banner preference: remembering your decision about analytics and marketing cookies (LocalStorage:
gre2jazz_consent_v1).
3.2 Analytics cookies — require your consent
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which content works best and to improve the site. Configuration:
- Anonymised IPs (
anonymize_ipenabled) - No data shared with Google Signals
- No data shared for advertising purposes
- Data retention: 14 months (the shortest allowed)
- "Consent Mode v2" with a default of denied: if you do not accept analytics, Google only receives aggregated and modelled signals, not individual data
Cookies used by GA4:
| Name | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Identify unique users | 2 years |
_ga_* | Maintain GA4 session state | 2 years |
_gid | Distinguish users (24h) | 24 hours |
3.3 Marketing cookies — require your consent
They only activate if you view embedded third-party content:
- Meta (Facebook / Instagram embeds): when we embed an IG post in a magazine article, Meta may set its own tracking cookies. Without your consent, those embeds do not load.
- Awin (ticketing affiliates): when you click a "Tickets" button for an event from Ticketmaster, See Tickets or other affiliate providers, Awin sets a 30-day tracking cookie to recognise whether you go on to buy the ticket. This lets us earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. If you do not accept marketing, those clicks go to the original URLs without tracking.
- Stay22 (accommodation map): on gig and venue pages we show a Stay22 map with hotels and flats near the venue. That map is an iframe that loads content from Stay22 (with its own cookies) and only appears if you accept marketing or click to open it yourself; otherwise you will only see a notice. If you book through it, we may earn a small commission at no cost to you.
- Adsterra (advertising): we display a native advertising banner from the Adsterra network to help fund the site. Adsterra and its partners may use cookies and identifiers to serve and measure ads, which can be based on your browsing. The ad script only loads if you accept marketing cookies; if you reject them, or do not decide, no advertising script is loaded at all. Seeadsterra.com/privacy-policy.
4. Third-party cookies — we do not control them
Some of the services listed above belong to third parties (Google, Meta, Awin, Stay22, Adsterra) that may process your data on their own servers, in many cases in the US. These international transfers rely on the UK-U.S. Data Bridge or on standard contractual clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

5. How to manage your cookies
When you first arrive you see a banner at the bottom with three options: Accept all,Reject all or Customise.
You can change your decision at any time using the button, which appears both here and in the footer.
You can also block or delete cookies directly from your browser. Each browser has its own way of doing this:
6. Renewing consent
Under ICO guidance, consent for analytics and marketing cookies should be refreshed at reasonable intervals. On our site we do this every 12 months to be more conservative with your privacy.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy the "Last updated" date will change and, if the changes affect your previous consent, we will show you the banner again.
