Who is Victor Wooten

Victor Wooten (born c. 1964, US) is a bassist. His work spans jazz, hip hop, funk, funk rock and jazz fusion. He has been the bassist for Béla Fleck and the Flecktones since the group formed in 1988. He was a member of SMV (2008–2009) with Stanley Clarke and Marcus Miller, and from 2017 to 2019 he recorded as bassist for Nitro. His releases include Vital Tech Tones (1998), Bass Extremes: Just Add Water (2001), Soul Circus (2005), Sword and Stone / Words and Tones (2012), The Music Lesson Soundtrack (2013), Trypnotyx (2017) and S’low Down (2022). He is also documented as a guitarist and composer.
