Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website downloads onto your device when you visit it. They let us remember information about your visit (language, preferences) or measure how people use the site. Two sets of rules apply to us at the same time. This site is published by a Spanish company, so the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spain's cookie rules apply to what we do — that is also why the data sits on servers in the European Union. And if you are a resident of California, the CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, applies to you as well. Both require us to tell you what we store and, in some cases, to ask first. Where they differ, we apply whichever gives you more.
2. Who owns the site?
GRE2JAZZ S.L., company number B10785392, registered at Calle Portalón, 7, 05690 Los Llanos de Tormes (Ávila), España. Contact: info@clubgre2jazz.com.
3. Types of cookies we use
3.1 Technical cookies (necessary) — always on
These cookies are essential for the site to work. Because they are strictly necessary to deliver the page you asked for, they do not require your consent under either set of rules. We use them for:
- Session and CSRF: identifying you temporarily during your visit to prevent request-forgery attacks on the forms.
- Banner preference: remembering your decision about analytics and marketing cookies (LocalStorage:
gre2jazz_consent_v1).
3.2 Analytics cookies — require your consent
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which content works best and to improve the site. Configuration:
- Anonymised IPs (
anonymize_ipenabled) - No data shared with Google Signals
- No data shared for advertising purposes
- Data retention: 14 months (the shortest allowed)
- "Consent Mode v2" with a default of denied: if you do not accept analytics, Google only receives aggregated and modelled signals, not individual data
Cookies used by GA4:
| Name | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Identify unique users | 2 years |
_ga_* | Maintain GA4 session state | 2 years |
_gid | Distinguish users (24h) | 24 hours |
3.3 Marketing cookies — require your consent
Accommodation maps and advertising use separate privacy controls:
- Google AdSense: We show Google AdSense ads to fund the club. Google and its providers may use cookies and identifiers according to your choices and the settings applicable to your region. Advertising uses its own Google consent message where applicable, separately from analytics and the Stay22 map. You can review or withdraw your choices using "Ad privacy settings" at the bottom of the page.
- Stay22 (accommodation map): on gig, festival and venue pages and hotel guides we show a Stay22 map of the location with hotels and flats near the venue. That map is an iframe that loads content from Stay22 (with its own cookies) and only appears if you accept marketing or click to open it yourself; otherwise you will only see a notice. If you book through it, we may earn a small commission at no cost to you.
4. Third-party cookies — we do not control them
Some of the services listed above belong to third parties (Google and Stay22) that may process your data on their own servers. Our own data sits in the European Union, so sending it to a provider in the United States is an international transfer under the GDPR: those transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. Stay22 is Canadian, covered by the European Commission's adequacy decision for Canada.
Separately — and this happens whatever you choose in the banner — some pages show photographs, album artwork, a player and a map that are fetched straight from other companies' servers. We set no cookie of our own for these, but your browser contacts those servers directly, so they receive your IP address, your browser details and the address of the page you are on, and they may set their own cookies under their own policies:
- Deezer and Apple Music — album artwork in musicians' discographies.
- Wikimedia Commons — musician photographs.
- TheAudioDB — further musician photographs where the others have none. We link no policy for it because the page they publish for it does not resolve.
- YouTube — musician portraits taken from channel images. No video player is embedded.
- Spotify — the artist player on musician pages, which is a frame served by Spotify.
- CARTO and OpenStreetMap — the map tiles on the general map page. The map draws itself when it scrolls into view, without a click.
We use no Meta pixel and no Facebook or Instagram embed.
On the few gigs that have no official seller we link to TicketNetwork, a resale marketplace, through the Impact affiliate network. The link is marked as an affiliate link and says it is resale: nothing of theirs runs on this site and no cookie of theirs is set here — their tracking only starts on their own site, after you click. If you buy there we earn a commission and you pay the same.

5. How to manage your cookies
When you first arrive you see a banner at the bottom with three options: Accept all, Reject all or Customise.
You can change your decision at any time using the button, which appears both here and in the footer.
You can also block or delete cookies directly from your browser. Each browser has its own way of doing this:
6. Renewing consent
Consent for analytics and marketing cookies should be asked again at reasonable intervals; European guidance puts the outer limit at 24 months. On our site we ask again every 12 months, which is stricter than we have to be.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy the "Last updated" date will change and, if the changes affect your previous consent, we will show you the banner again.
