Who is Mammal Hands

Mammal Hands are a British instrumental trio from Norwich, England, formed by Jordan Smart on saxophone, Nick Smart on piano and Rob Turner on drums. Their music sits within contemporary jazz, blending acoustic instrumentation with rhythmic, often hypnotic structures that draw on minimalism and ambient textures. Working without a bassist, the trio builds its sound around the interplay between saxophone melodies, piano patterns and dynamic drumming. The band's discography includes Animalia (2014), Floa (2016), Shadow Work (2017), Becoming (2018), Captured Spirits (2020), Gift From the Trees (2023) and Circadia (2026). Their recordings have appeared across major streaming and retail platforms, and their catalogue is documented on MusicBrainz and Discogs. Mammal Hands maintain an official website and are active on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, Bandcamp and SoundCloud, as well as on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, where they share music, tour information and releases with their audience.
