Emma-Jean Thackray

Emma-Jean Thackray is a trumpeter, singer, composer and producer whose music connects jazz improvisation with funk, soul and electronic production. She works across instrumental playing, vocals and studio arrangement. Her album Yellow brings these elements together in an ensemble setting. The record places improvised passages beside dance-oriented rhythms and vocal writing, reflecting a practice that moves between live performance and production.
