Stanley Clarke is an American bassist and composer, born around 1951. His work spans contemporary jazz, jazz fusion, jazz funk, funk and rock. He was a founding member of Return to Forever, one of the first jazz fusion bands, and is documented as the first jazz fusion bassist to headline tours, sell out shows worldwide and have recordings achieve Gold certification.
