Who is Wynton Marsalis

Wynton Marsalis (born c. 1961) is an American trumpeter. His documented roles also include composer, bandleader, conductor, classical trumpeter, jazz musician and musician. He is associated with jazz, blues, swing, post-bop, hard bop, dixieland, jazz and blues, and modern classical. He has been active in promoting classical and jazz music, often to young audiences, and is artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center. His discography includes Baroque Music for Trumpets (1984), Hot House Flowers (1984), Standard Time, Volume 5: The Midnight Blues (1998), Jody and Sweet Release & Ghost Story (1999), Christmas Jazz Jam (2009), Big Band Holidays (2015) and The Ever Fonky Lowdown (2020). He has won nine Grammy Awards, and his 1997 oratorio Blood on the Fields was the first jazz composition to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music.
