Who is Terell Stafford

Terell Stafford (born c. 1966) is an American jazz trumpeter whose work is rooted in post-bop. Alongside his performing and recording career, he serves as Director of Jazz Studies at the Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University. His discography as a leader spans more than two decades, beginning with Centripetal Force (1997) and Fields of Gold (2000). Later releases include the live recording Taking Chances: Live at the Dakota (2007), This Side of Strayhorn (2011), Brotherlee Love (2015), Forgive and Forget (2016), Clockwise: The Music of Cedar Walton (2017) and Fly With the Wind (2023). Several of these albums pay tribute to influential jazz composers, reflecting his engagement with the tradition.
