London-based collective Steam Down channels the energy of UK jazz, broken beat, grime and Afro-diasporic rhythm into a raw, communal sound. Their music is built around saxophone, keys, bass, drums and electronics, often featuring spoken word and vocal contributions that reinforce the group’s weekly session ethos. The interplay favours tight horn lines, syncopated grooves and a club-ready immediacy that reflects the South East London scene they emerged from.
