Who is Ottmar Liebert
Ottmar Liebert is a guitarist born in Cologne who developed his recording career after settling in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His instrumental music combines the nylon-string guitar with elements drawn from flamenco, Latin music, jazz and pop.
He formed Luna Negra in 1989. A self-produced recording was subsequently remastered and released as Nouveau Flamenco, introducing the piece Barcelona Nights to a wider audience. Later projects have explored ensemble playing, solo guitar and different recording approaches while retaining his focus on melody.
