The festival is produced by Bravo! Concerts Northwest, a 501(c)(3) arts nonprofit, and takes place in Esther Short Park at 301 W 8th Street, a city park in downtown Vancouver just across the Columbia River from Portland. Its programming pairs Grammy-winning touring jazz artists with blues and gospel acts and a slate of regional and local performers, alongside wine, art and food vendors.
Because Vancouver sits inside the Portland metropolitan area, the festival draws from a two-state audience and effectively serves as the region's main outdoor jazz weekend in late summer, complementing Portland's spring festival. Recent headliners have included Paquito D'Rivera.
