Twin Cities Jazz Festival
The Twin Cities Jazz Festival fills Mears Park and the surrounding Lowertown blocks of Saint Paul with two free days of music. The 2026 edition, the 28th, ran June 19-20.

The festival is run by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose stated purpose is to bring communities together around jazz and to reach younger players, and admission is free. Two outdoor stages sit in Mears Park in the historic Lowertown neighborhood, and the festival extends into more than eighteen Saint Paul venues over the same weekend, so club sets and park sets run in parallel.
That club-plus-park structure is what distinguishes it from a single-site event: the park stages carry touring headliners while the surrounding bars, restaurants and small rooms host Minnesota bands, which gives local musicians a large share of the program. The festival relies on donations and sponsorship to stay free and campaigns openly on that point.
