The festival is organized by bassist Raphael Semmes and Tripp Douglas of Fusion Coffeehouse, and takes place at The Township at Colony Park in Ridgeland, a suburb north of Jackson. The 2026 edition, the nineteenth, ran on Saturday, April 11 from 11 am to 7 pm. Admission is free and there is covered seating; the model is explicitly to present a full spectrum of jazz artists at no charge, with corporate sponsors covering the cost.
The bill mixes touring headliners with the Mississippi jazz education pipeline. In 2026 the Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning flutist Nestor Torres headlined alongside the Tropicales, with the Jackson State University Jazz Ensemble, the Madison Central High School Jazz Band, the Murrah High School Jazz Band, the Raphael Semmes Jazz Ensemble, The Vamps and Southern Komfort filling out the day.
