Founded in 1977, the Telluride Jazz Festival is one of the oldest jazz festivals in the Rocky Mountains and takes place in Telluride Town Park, the same municipal park that hosts the town's bluegrass and blues festivals. It is a camping festival: passes include on-site and nearby camping, and the event is all ages.
The bill mixes jazz with funk and jam-adjacent acts, and 2026 expanded from one stage to two — a Main Stage plus a new Foundation Stage devoted to straight-ahead artists. That year's lineup paired The Disco Biscuits, Lettuce, Don Was & The Pan Detroit Ensemble and Robert Randolph on the Main Stage with Theo Croker and Endea Owens & The Cookout on the Foundation Stage. Student bands also perform, a long-standing part of the festival's programming.
