- Mid August
Run by Stowe Jazz Festival, LTD, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the festival takes place across venues in and around the village each August. Its stated programming rule is narrow by festival standards - jazz only, with no adjacent-genre headliners - covering bebop, swing, gypsy jazz, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban jazz, standards and progressive or electric jazz.
The absence of any gate revenue shapes the event: it depends on sponsors, venues and donations, and the music is distributed among restaurants, inns and outdoor spaces rather than concentrated on a main stage. Groups are booked from outside Vermont as well as regionally. The 2026 edition ran August 14-16.
