Run by a 501(c)(3) non-profit based at 621 Colfax Avenue, the festival reached its 21st edition in 2026. Its model is hybrid: the Jazz Walk on the Friday and Saturday evenings is free, with more than 80 musicians playing bars, restaurants and halls around the city center and a free trolley circulating between them from 6pm to 10pm, while the headline concerts on the three nights are ticketed.

That structure lets a mid-sized city support a festival with national names - Ron Carter and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band headlined in 2026 - without a dedicated festival site. The 2026 edition ran August 7-9.
