Richmond Jazz and Music Festival
The Richmond Jazz and Music Festival is a two-day, two-stage August festival that programs straight-ahead and contemporary jazz alongside soul and hip-hop headliners.

The 2026 edition ran August 8 and 9 on two stages. The festival name changed from Richmond Jazz Festival to Richmond Jazz and Music Festival, and the bill reflects that: Erykah Badu headlined 2026, with Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, Noname, Doug E. Fresh, Johnny Gill and Lloyd on the same weekend as the jazz acts.
The jazz side of the program is substantial rather than decorative. The 2026 lineup included vocalist Samara Joy, guitarist Peter White, the British acid-jazz group Down to the Bone, the Blackbyrds, Victor Wooten and the Wooten Brothers, and Richmond's own Plunky and Oneness. Anyone using this festival as a jazz destination should read the lineup first, because the split between jazz and soul programming shifts from year to year.
