Pittsfield CityJazz Festival

The Pittsfield CityJazz Festival is a nine-day spring festival in Pittsfield, in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, produced by the non-profit Berkshires Jazz.

City: Pittsfield
Where: Pittsfield, Massachusetts
When: Late April
Since: 2005

Berkshires Jazz has run the festival since 2005, and the 2026 edition was its twentieth. Holding it in April rather than in summer keeps it clear of the Berkshires' dense summer calendar - Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, MASS MoCA - and gives the region a jazz event in the off-season, when the venues and the town are not competing for the same audience.

Each edition is organized around a theme. The 2026 festival was built as a profile of women in jazz, with headline concerts by Georgia Heers, Grace Kelly and Veronica Swift, and ran April 17-25 across venues in the city. It is one of the few jazz festivals in the region that programs a sustained editorial line rather than a general bill.
