Produced by Omega Events, the Newport Beach Jazz Festival has run since 1996 and describes itself as one of the longest continuously running festivals in Orange County. It is a single-site event: all performances take place on the grounds of the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, an outdoor space overlooking the Newport back bay that the hotel renovated in recent years.
The schedule is built around a Friday evening opener — doors and food at 6 p.m., music at 8 — followed by two full days starting mid-morning on Saturday and Sunday. Programming sits on the contemporary and smooth end of the jazz spectrum, mixing established names with newer players, and the festival sells mostly multi-day and VIP passes rather than single tickets.
