Angel City Arts is a Los Angeles nonprofit dedicated to the city's creative and experimental jazz scene, and its annual festival is the main platform for that work. In 2026 the festival was presented under the name Jazz Refractions, running October 9-25 with fifteen performances. It deliberately avoids a single site: the 2026 edition used LACMA, REDCAT at Walt Disney Concert Hall, 2220 Arts + Archives, Motivo LA, Sound Dhaba, the Westside Conservatory of Music and the Glorya Kaufman Theatre at the Wende Museum.
Programming focuses on contemporary and forward-looking West Coast jazz, pairing Los Angeles-based artists with players from the wider national scene, and the festival keeps prices deliberately low — 2026 tickets topped out at $30, with several free RSVP concerts. That pricing and its museum-and-arts-space venue map set it apart from the region's amphitheater festivals.
