The festival is produced by the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and it is ticketed rather than free, with single-show tickets and multi-day passes. Instead of building a festival site, it books the city's existing jazz rooms and theaters: The Jazz Kitchen and Turntable on North College Avenue, The Cabaret downtown and The Vogue in Broad Ripple, which keeps most of the week indoors and seated.
The exception is the closing day. The Grand Finale at the Indianapolis Art Center and Opti Park uses two outdoor stages and around ten bands, turning the last Saturday into the festival's public face. The 2026 bill was led by drummer Sheila E., bassist MonoNeon and saxophonist Karl Denson alongside Indianapolis players such as Brandon Meeks, a balance of touring names and local musicians that reflects the city's own jazz lineage.
