Englewood Jazz Festival
The Englewood Jazz Festival is a free three-day festival in Hamilton Park on Chicago's South Side, held September 17-19 in 2026. It is one of the longest-running neighborhood-rooted jazz festivals in the city.

The festival is presented by Live the Spirit Residency, the organization built around saxophonist and composer Ernest Dawkins, and it stays in Englewood rather than moving downtown. Hamilton Park is the single site, admission is free, and the program mixes Chicago players who came up through the AACM orbit with younger musicians from the neighborhood's own teaching programs.
The 2026 lineup ran from Dee Alexander, Maggie Brown and Ernest Dawkins to trumpeter Marquis Hill, bassist Jeremiah Hunt, saxophonist Braxton Cook and pianist Julius Tucker, a spread that puts national touring names on the same bill as local residents. The festival reached its 27th year in 2026, which makes it a fixture of the South Side calendar rather than a recent addition.
