The festival is produced by Elkhart Festivals Inc. with volunteers and community partners, and it is built around downtown venues rather than a single park, with the restored Lerner Theatre as the anchor room. Headline performances are ticketed through Ticketmaster while a large share of the surrounding program is free, so the weekend works both as a concert series and as a street festival.
The booking is deliberately wide. The 2026 headliners were Larkin Poe, the Jeff Hamilton Trio, St. Paul and the Broken Bones and John Pizzarelli across the four nights, with more than forty additional artists filling the rest of the schedule; that mix of straight-ahead jazz, blues, Americana and soul is the festival's long-standing shape. Elkhart's own history as a center of band instrument manufacturing gives the event a local logic that most Indiana festivals do not have.
