The Hollywood Bowl has hosted a jazz weekend in June for decades, most recently under the Blue Note Jazz Festival banner in association with the Blue Note club brand and Los Angeles jazz station 88.1 KJAZZ. It is the successor to the Bowl's earlier jazz weekend and remains the largest single jazz event in Los Angeles by capacity, staged in the 17,500-seat amphitheater in the Hollywood Hills.
Both nights follow the Bowl's standard format: a musical prelude at 5:40 p.m. and the main program from 6 p.m., with the venue's rotating stage used to keep music running between acts. Programming reaches well beyond straight-ahead jazz into funk, R&B and hip-hop-adjacent artists — the 2026 Saturday bill paired Robert Glasper and Yussef Dayes with Wyclef Jean — and local youth ensembles are given slots on the main stage.
