Who is James Lavelle

James Lavelle is an English electronic musician, DJ and record label owner whose work spans trip-hop, breakbeat and electronic music. He founded the Mo'Wax label in 1992, which became closely associated with the British electronic scene of that decade, and he remains the only constant member of the group Unkle. His recorded output includes a long-running series of DJ mixes, among them Cream Live Two (1996), 60 Min's of Mo'Wax Shit (1997) and FabricLive. 01 (2001). Lavelle has also contributed several entries to the Global Underground series, recorded in Barcelona (2002), Romania (2004), Bangkok (2009) and Naples (2015), the latter presented under the Unkle Sounds name. Beyond mix compilations, his credits include the soundtrack Trust (Original Series Soundtrack) (2018). His work as a curator and label founder has run alongside his recording and DJ career. Further information and music are available through his official website and profiles on Wikipedia, MusicBrainz, Discogs, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
