Founded in 1996 and known as "mjf", Manchester Jazz Festival champions the genre’s leading names alongside its most exciting emerging talent, with a strong commitment to new commissions and artist-development schemes. It uses a spread of city venues including Matt & Phreds, the RNCM and Stoller Hall, often anchored by an opening outdoor weekender.
With a focus on both established and up-and-coming musicians, mjf has become a key platform for the vibrant jazz scene of the North West and beyond.
